FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Stepping into something new can feel a little overwhelming — especially when you’re choosing the best place for your child to dance, grow and sparkle.
Here’s where you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions other parents have asked before taking their first step in.
If there's something else you're wondering, you're not alone — simply reach out here and someone will be in touch to make it simple and easy.
Does my child need experience to start?
Not at all. Every dancer begins somewhere. Whether it’s your child’s very first twirl or they're ready to take their technique to the next level, they're in the right place.
What ages do you welcome?
Children from 18 months to 17 years old are currently loving their dance journey here. Next year, there’ll be classes up to 18 years as older levels are added.
What should my child wear for their first class?
Something comfy works perfectly! A t-shirt with leggings or shorts and bare feet is ideal for the first class.Once your child has found their groove, you’ll have simple and easy options for a uniform — your teacher will walk you through it.
How are class levels decided?
Levels are based on both age and ability — which means your child is supported at the right pace, in the right place, with the right people. It’s all about growing confidence and joy in the most empowering way.
Can I watch the class?
If your child is in Twirltime, you’re warmly invited to join them in the studio (one parent per dancer). For all other classes, it’s a closed-door experience — which allows your child to focus, build confidence and enjoy a space that’s just for them.
Is there a dress code?
Yes — and it’s designed to be age appropriate, simple and convenient.
Option A is a pink skirted leotard, while Option B is a white t-shirt with navy leggings. Further information can be found here.
What about dance shoes?
Little feet need freedom at first — barefoot is best for beginners, especially the youngest dancers.
As your child progresses:
Ballet shoes are needed for ballet
Tap shoes are introduced from Soloist and Primary levels
From Rising Stars onwards, correct shoes for each style (ballet, jazz, tap) are part of the class. Further info can be found here.
